With Tax Day fast approaching, the Legal Aid Society’s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic is back to educate us on the 3rd Stimulus Payment and what you can claim on your individual income taxes. This free, community-oriented course provides tax professionals from Legal Aid Society to answer questions from the attendees. And, if your preferred language is Spanish, we will be hosting this class in Spanish on Wednesday, May 12th.
About the Program
In this webinar, representatives from Legal Aid Society of San Diego’s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC) will explain details and interesting facts about the recently passed legislation of the American Rescue Plan in early March 2021 by the US government, particularly focusing on:
- 3rd Stimulus Check details & timeline
- Changes in law with Child Tax Credit, Unemployment claims & other selected topics
- Information on claiming 3rd EIP credit during 2022 Tax Season
About the Speakers
Shahin Rahimi is the Supervising Attorney of the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic at Legal Aid Society of San Diego. Prior to working at Legal Aid, he practiced securities litigation. He received his JD from California Western School of Law in 2002 and a BA in Political Science from UC San Diego.
Wendy Romero is the LITC Outreach Coordinator for Legal Aid Society of San Diego, where she educates and advocates for low-income taxpayers. She holds a Master of International Affairs from UC San Diego, and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from SDSU. She has a passion for teaching, helping, and empowering others to become their best selves with the tools of human capital.
