A 1 hour MCLE overview of water law. The class is divided into four areas: water rights, water quality, navigable waters, and water service. Water rights covers the history of California water law. Water quality looks at regulating of water pollution. Navigable waters covers the regulation of wetlands, dredging, and surface use of waterways. Water service covers water delivery and infrastructure, including recently announced state responses to the drought. Key water rights doctrines, major laws, and recent legislation will be highlighted.
Our speaker is Marianne Greene. She is currently in private practice specializing in environmental and land use law. Previously, she was a Deputy City Attorney for the City of San Diego and Deputy County Counsel for Merced County in the areas of land use and planning.
