User Experience Assistant
Looking for talented support staff to keep our User Experience Department running smoothly. Become a part of our team and help us provide access to justice for the people of San Diego County!
Job Summary: Creates a positive user experience for library patrons and staff by ensuring proper administration of Borrowing & Benefit Programs in KOHA system, maintenance of patron and staff office equipment, assisting with class and event set up and breakdown including any IT equipment, administering our ILL program, and helping maintain stacks for easy access to our print collection. This is a full-time position at our Downtown location.
Requirements: Energetic, proactive, positive can-do attitude. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and get things done in a fast paced environment. Attention to detail and ability to anticipate impact of improper data entry on system as a whole. Must have excellent customer service skills. Mechanically inclined – ability to learn equipment manuals, operate, program, and troubleshoot office equipment. Computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Office products. Excellent communication skills, ability to interact with patrons, write clear instructions and document procedures.
Preferred Skills / Experience: Experience with library database software such as KOHA or Millennium. Prior customer service experience, dealing with the public. Experience running database reports and keeping statistics. Cashier experience, keeping an accurate cash drawer.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience, starting salary range $37,000 to $40,000. Generous benefit package includes: medical, dental and vision insurance, California Public Employees’ Retirement System, 457 Plan, transportation benefits, and development opportunities.
