The San Diego Law Library presents A Speakers’ Bureau Program featuring Gary Laturno

 

– 1 hour MCLE General Participatory Credit is available.

 

This one hour presentation will cover the current developments in the U. S. Housing Crisis including: tax issues – cancellation of debt income in short sales & foreclosures, SB 458: deficiency judgments after a short sale, SB 900: CA Homeowners Bill of Rights, SB 1069: does CA’s anti deficiency protection extend to refinance loans?, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau: qualified mortgages, safe harbor & ability to pay rules,  refinancing under HARP 2,  new Fannie & Freddie short sale guidelines and lessons learned.

 

About the Speaker:

Gary Laturno, President & General Counsel, Laturno Kuick Realty, is a frequent speaker at the San Diego County Bar Association and other CEB Seminars on current issues in real estate. Since 2007, his law practice has focused on counseling homeowners in financial distress, as well as training volunteer attorneys, housing counselors and Realtors on options to avoid foreclosure. In 2009, Gary was the recipient of the Housing Opportunities Collaborative Distinguished Pro Bono Attorney Service Award.
