This year’s Law Day Free Legal Clinic was a HUGE success! We are so grateful to our partners at the North County Bar Association, the Vista Branch of the San Diego County Library, the Legal Aid Society of San Diego, the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program (SDVLP), and most importantly, the 25 generous attorneys that volunteered their afternoons to provide access to justice to the people of San Diego County!

For the past 15 years, we have partnered with the North County Bar Association to conduct the Law Day Free Legal Clinic. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were forced to cancel the clinic in 2020 and hold a virtual clinic in 2021. But, this year we came back to the in-person format and provided assistance in English and Spanish!

This year 81 people received legal assistance from the wonderful attorneys who volunteered their time to help the San Diego community. Attendees received legal assistance in six specialty areas: Civil, Criminal, Family, Immigration, Landlord/Tenant, and Trusts & Estates. The registration was open to all residents of San Diego County.

Every year the American Bar Association (ABA) designates May 1st as Law Day, a day to celebrate the rule of law in our society and to cultivate a deeper understanding of the legal profession. This year’s Law Day theme is “Toward a More Perfect Union: The Constitution in Times of Change.” The ABA is planning a host of events around Law Day.
