How to Administer a Special Needs Trust

By Benita on May 29, 2014//Leave a comment

A trustee for a special needs trust is held to a high standard of performance and care. Compared to other trusts, additional responsibilities and duties are undertaken by the trustee. Expert licensed fiduciaries, Susan Fox from Liberty Fiduciary Services, a member of our Speaker’s Bureau Program and Jeanette Servin, a Fiduciary for the San Diego Special Needs Trust Foundation, will outline the skills necessary to successfully administer a special needs trust.

Also, Dennis McRoberts, Consultant for Social Security Matters will demonstrate how to navigate the online Program Operations Manual System (POMS) for special needs trusts. POMS is the primary source of information used by Social Security employees to process claims for Social Security benefits.
