Are you a party to an unlimited civil case on appeal from the superior court to the Court of Appeal? The appellate court is different — including its processes and procedures.
If you need some guidance in navigating the appellate process, you are welcome to participate in a FREE workshop, Here you will learn important information about what is required at the Court of Appeal, especially if you do not have an attorney.
NOTE: The workshop does not cover appeals in limited civil actions, which are taken to the appellate division of the superior court, or appeals in the federal courts.
This month’s Workshop will take place on Tuesday, February 15th, at 4:00 pm. Attendees MUST register in advance by contacting the Legal Aid Society of San Diego at (619) 471-2781 or by registering online. If registering by telephone, potential registrants will then be called for screening and receive a Zoom link to the virtual workshop. If you miss this month’s workshop, there is one held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
The Workshop is held virtually via Zoom, a web–based video conferencing tool. For the best workshop experience, you will need Internet access either via a computer or a smartphone. However, you may participate via telephone even without Internet access.
The Civil Appellate Self-Help Workshop is also an opportunity to learn more about the Access to Appellate Justice Pro Bono Program, a program that pairs self-represented appellants with pro bono attorneys.
