During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to limit our trips to the store and many of us have relied upon online shopping to get the things we need. If you use Amazon Prime to get your online shopping done (or things you maybe just really, really want), you can donate to the law library at NO COST TO YOU!

The AmazonSmile program allows you to shop and receive the same products at the same price with the same great delivery and return policies and with each purchase Amazon will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to the charity of your choice, the San Diego Law Library Foundation! Click here to learn about how to sign up for AmazonSmile. I know that 0.5% doesn’t seem like much, but if you shop online as much as we have over the past few months, it will add up!

The donations go to the The San Diego Law Library Foundation, which is organized as a charitable trust affiliated with the San Diego Law Library. The sole mission of the Foundation is to aid us in our efforts to provide access to justice through our many resources and programs. The Foundation is recognized as a 501(c)(3) organization established for scientific and educational purposes by the IRS.

The San Diego Law Library Foundation also organizes the annual Bernard E. Witkin Awards Ceremony. It is the 25th anniversary of the Witkin Awards, and this year’s ceremony will be a virtual one on October 8, 2020! The Witkin Awards are presented annually to honor members of the San Diego legal community for civic leadership and excellence in education, public service, practice and adjudication of the law.

We are so excited that the Law Library Foundation is able to continue the Witkin Award tradition during these difficult times, and we will update you with more information as we receive it! If you would like more information about the San Diego Law Library Foundation and the Witkin Awards Program, keep reading the newsletter and follow us on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook.
