The San Diego Law Library is excited to announce that are partnering with Veterans Village of San Diego to be an intake site for Stand Down San Diego 2019. Stand Down San Diego is a 3 day, 2 night intervention program that takes place this year from June 28th to June 30th at the San Diego High School upper athletic field on Park Blvd.

During this program over 3,000 volunteers and 150 service providers provide assistance to over 800 homeless veterans and their families living in San Diego County. Veterans Village San Diego originated the Stand Down event and their model has been copied by veterans organizations all over the country.

Veterans and their spouses need to complete a short, 1-page application to take part in Stand Down. You can come into our Downtown location to meet with our staff who will assist in the completion of the application and provide instructions for Stand Down attendance. We will assist with intakes from April 15th to June 19th during the library’s regular business hours. Please visit the Veterans Village of San Diego website or call 619-393-2000 for more information about how you can participate in Stand Down 2019.

San Diego is home to over 240,000 military veterans and the Law Library has designated Military Law as this year’s topic of the year. Each year we give special focus to an area of law intrinsic to the fabric of San Diego County’s culture, history, and modern day life. During the year, we will focus on resources for veterans, legal services, and military laws. Also, check out our Military Law guide which features resources available on a variety of legal topics related to veterans and active duty military.
