California Says No to Beer Coupons

By Benita on November 14, 2014//Leave a comment

Assembly Bill No. 1928 outlaws all beer coupons funded, produced, sponsored, promoted, or furnished by a beer manufacturer or wholesaler. Starting January 1, 2015, a retailer cannot accept any beer coupons. Most beer manufacturers are in support of this bill since counterfeit paper coupons have created liability issues. According to the author of the bill, Assembly Member Bocanegra, the “lack of transparency in how coupons are used in the beer market” contributed to the rise of counterfeit coupons.

However, this does not necessarily mean that you have to pay full price for an ice-cold brew. Mail-in rebates and digital rebates for beer are still allowed.
