About the Event
There has been a lot of research on cognitive bias. It affects how we perceive the world and how the world perceives us. This program will discuss different types of cognitive biases and their potential negative impact on your professional career and the lives of others. It will also provide tools to help you:
- Identify, understand, and interrupt biases in the workplace and beyond.
- Avoid engaging in potentially problematic behavior and using outdated terminology.
- Learn and recover from your own faux pas.
About the Speaker
Angelica Sciencio, Esq. is an immigration attorney who is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion issues. Angelica has been an active member of several law-related associations and affinity groups where she held various board, sections, and committee leadership positions. She has served as an immigration law instructor for the UC San Diego Paralegal Extension Program. Additionally, she has published articles and given continuing legal education presentations on various topics such as elimination of bias, immigration law, and professional advancement.
