Queen’s Plight Similar to Our Own

It is that time of the year when squeezing into my “good” clothes becomes a guilty reminder of the lack of commitment I had to eating right and exercise during the past year.  But not so mortifying as the plight of poor Queen Liliukalani, Hawaii’s last imperial highness and a major historical figure, while visiting a hotel in St. Louis back in 1904.  After a long season of feasting, we join in solidarity with the beautiful but robust monarch.  Let her story be a reminder to us all about the importance of eating well, and staying home during the holidays….

While the Queen’s problems may have been worse than mine, nonetheless there is no excuse for not treating this poor body of mine with the respect it deserves.

I will once again commit to living a healthy lifestyle…after the holidays…
