PARK(ing) Day – Friday, September 20, 2013
PARK(ing) Day is a annual open-source global event where citizens, artists and activists collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public places or parks. This event calls attention to the need for more urban open space. The City of San Diego has agreed to allow participation without a special permit. However, certain rules must be followed: no more than 2 spots in any one block can be used for the event, must pay the meter, stay within confines of the space, and abide by all parking laws. Alert the folks at the Downtown San Diego Partnership and they will forward the info to the proper City parking authorities. PARK on San Diego!
