You’re welcome to join us for free tours of the Law Library’s Downtown location this Saturday, March 24, between 10 am and 4 pm. The tours are part of Open House San Diego (OH! SD). OH! SD is a program of the San Diego Architectural Foundation over the weekend of March 24-25. It offers free, behind-the-scenes tours of some of San Diego’s must-see architectural sites located in Bankers Hill, Balboa Park, Downtown, Barrio Logan, and Point Loma.
“Everyone, including local residents, families, students and out-of-town visitors, is welcome to attend,” said Susanne Friestedt, Founder, OH! SD.
Come and see the building’s iconic floating staircase, black Escondido granite facings, floor-to-ceiling west-facing windows, white Carrara marble floors, and a buried peek-a-boo time capsule. Check out unique spaces like the hand-painted labyrinth and a “magical” lounge.
Each region has a starting “hub” where visitors can check in and pick up a passport. As you visit each landmark in the region, you can collect a unique stamp. The Downtown hub is the Santa Fe Train Depot.
All sites will be open to the public, while select ones will offer guided tours on a first-come, first-served basis, or may require advance reservations. Most locations will be open 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
