This year’s theme is Where is the Love? At the Law Library! As the heart of the legal community, the Law Library opens its doors to friends and supporters each year to come together for live entertainment, tasty food, and to catch up with friends.
Join us for:
- light refreshments,
- live entertainment,
- a BIG announcement about our online catalog,
- a celebration of our accomplishments this year,
- pictures with the Bookmas Tree,
- guess how many books are in the Bookmas Tree game,
- voting for the Book of the Year,
- a caricature artist who would LOVE to draw you for a $25 donation,
- an opportunity to purchase a hand-made glass HEART ornament by a local artist for a $10 donation,
- and lots of love!
Capture the love and remember the moment forever! Local caricature artist, Kara Wald, will be on hand to draw portraits at the Open House.
Caricature portraits are a great conversation starter and also make unique gifts during this holiday season. Grab your family and friends, come to the Open House, and have your portrait drawn!
We are asking for a $25 donation for portraits. All donations go to support the Law Library.
Support the Law Library and have a great gift for yourself or someone you love! Ornaments are hand made kiln-formed glass, donated by a local artist. Made especially for the Law Library Open House!
We are asking for a $10 donation for each glass heart. All donations go to support the Law Library.
2017 BOOK OF THE YEAR

The Bookmas Tree brings holiday joy and cheer to all who see it. Take a picture of the Bookmas Tree and post with this tag: #bookmastreeSD
The Tree stands over 9 feet tall and is more than 3 feet wide at the base. Built with books from storage, the tree is an impressive sight! The Bookmas Tree is on display from November 15 until New Years.
Play our Guess the Number of Books in the Bookmas Tree Contest! Enter your guess online or at the Law Library. The closest to guessing without going over will receive a Law Library Gift Bag o’ Swag.
