As many of our recent visitors to our Downtown location may already know, there is quite a bit of construction going on outside of our building.
The County is in the process of building an underground tunnel from the San Diego Central Jail to the San Diego County Central Courthouse on Union Street. This is going to affect the roads and sidewalks of Front Street.
On Saturday, January 25th, the sidewalk in front of the law library will be restricted. The only access to our building will be a 6 foot wide path from the northeast corner of Front Street & C Street. The path will be shielded from Front Street by a chain link fence, so it may not be immediately obvious to passers-by. We will relocate our Overnight Book Drop from the street-side of the side walk to right next to our front door, facing C Street. This is expected to last for 2 years.
In other Front Street news, beginning this month Front Street between Broadway and F Street will be closed for the next 15 months for a construction project aimed to improve the safety at the Schwartz Federal Office Building.
We want to reassure you that we will be open regular hours throughout this construction process and, we apologize for any inconvenience the construction may cause. If you have any questions about the construction, please feel free to contact us!
