Primary elections may not be until June, 2018, but National Voter Registration Day is Tuesday, September 26th. National Voter Registration Day  is a national holiday celebrating our democracy.  It is an opportunity to create awareness of voter registration options.  Observed since 2012, National Voter Registration Day is held the fourth Tuesday of September.

By utilizing new technology, partner organizations, and volunteers, National Voter Registration Day seeks to educate Americans in all 50 states about how to register, sign up for election reminders, check their registration online, get mail ballots, learn about early voting and more. Last year, 750,000 voters used National Voter Register to register to vote.

The San Diego Law Library is one of almost 3,000-partner organizations nation-wide providing voter registration information.  Voter Registration forms are available at our Downtown and Vista locations. San Diego County residents can register to vote, check registration status, or request a mail ballot online at the San Diego San Diego Registrar of Voters website. For answers to frequently ask questions about voter registration, check out the California Secretary of State website.
