Year of Military Law: Legal Guide Now Available
This week kicks off the Law Library’s Year of Military Law.
The military is a large part of the fabric of San Diego. Our county has the largest concentration of military personnel in California: 8% of the total military population of the US; 30% of all active duty Marines; and 17% of all active duty Naval personnel. Additionally, San Diego has the third largest concentration of veterans. For 2018-19, we will be focusing on resources for veterans, legal services, and military laws.
Check out our new Military Law guide! Our goal is to provide information to the community on important military issues. The guide features resources available on a variety of legal topics related to active duty military and veterans. Access information 24/7 from reliable non-profits and government agencies, find local free legal help on veterans issues, and discover print resources available at our Downtown and Vista locations.
The Law Library maintains a large collection of online research and motion guides. Many guides even include pre-formatted sample motions for you to modify. Review our Guides page today!
Each year we give special focus to an area of law intrinsic to the fabric of San Diego county’s culture, history, and modern day life. We have identified four main topics: Military Law, Tribal Law, Water Law, and Border Law. These topics are rotated annually for special prominence in our educational and professional programming. For more information, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will highlight these issues with MCLE programs featuring experts in the field, articles on resources available at the library and in the community, and news on developments in this evolving area of the law. Our goal is to provide information and resources to the community on these important issues. All events and news will be announced via this newsletter and on our website.
