Quick Access Toolbar (QAT)
The Quick Access Toolbar is a customizable toolbar that contains a set of commands that are independent of the tab that is currently displayed. The QAT is located in the upper left hand corner by the Microsoft Office button. You can customize this toolbar to add commands that you use often.
To customize your QAT:
1. On the Ribbon, click the appropriate tab or group to display the command that you want to add to the Quick Access Toolbar.
2. Right-click the command, and then click Add to Quick Access Toolbar on the shortcut menu.
Try it out: Open MS Word. Click on the Review tab. Right click New Comment. Left click Add to Quick Access Toolbar. You will now see the New Comment icon listed on your QAT.
I added the Spelling and Grammar review button and the Save button to my QAT. I use these commands all the time! Now they are quick and easy to find on my Quick Access Toolbar. What are you going to add to your QAT?
