There has been a significant increase in the amount of opiate prescriptions because of changes in medical standards of care regarding pain management. Consequently, there has been a remarkable increase in opiate-related overdoses and deaths. Families are beginning to hold doctors legally accountable for the opiate-related deaths of their loved ones. Join us in two days on Thursday, April 20, for America’s Opioid Epidemic and the Law as we examine what this means for lawyers, and how lawyers can optimize medical records pertaining to these cases.
About the speakers:
Tara Bohannon has a Masters in Nursing and has written many hospital polices and standards of care and Barbara Durham is a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant with almost ten years of nursing experience.
