About the Program

This class provides an overview of the organization and capabilities of the Sheriff’s Crime Lab. We will discuss basic evidence collection and packaging, what each unit of the lab does, and legal issues faced by Crime Lab employees in their casework and court testimony.

About the Speaker

Cathy Chang is a longtime San Diego resident with a Master of Forensic Sciences degree from National University. She has worked at the San Diego County Sheriff’s Crime Lab since 2005 in the Forensic Biology Unit and have been a part of the Crime Scene Investigation team since 2010.
