The class focuses on the 10 Key Steps to starting a business. These 10 Key Steps will help you understand what is required, though the steps may vary depending on the type of business you are starting. Also, they provide a road map to help the process go smoothly.
Topics for the class include:
Identifying proper zoning
Choosing a business name
Selecting a business activity type
Determining legal structure
Obtaining licenses and permits
Taxes
Employer responsibilities
About the Speaker:
Tracy Reed has been a Business Development Officer with the City of San Diego’s Economic Development Department since 2012. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. He has been with the City for 30 years in a variety of departments and positions, including the Planning Department and the Redevelopment Agency.
