Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic Wednesday, May 29th
The Law Library is proud to partner with the Legal Aid Society of San Diego to provide a Federal Income Tax clinic. The clinic assists low-income tax payers with IRS wage garnishments, bank levies, audits, EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit) denials, negotiated settlements, and other problems.
The clinics are at our Downtown location on the last Wednesday of each month from 2 pm to 4 pm. This month, the clinic is Wednesday, May 29th. People will be seen on a first come – first served basis.
The clinic does not assist in the preparation of federal or state income tax returns. You can receive help preparing your taxes through two programs provided by the IRS. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program can help if you meet one of several qualifications. Additionally, if you are over 60 years old, then you can take advantage of the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program.
