The Law Library is proud to partner with the Legal Aid Society of San Diego to provide Low Income Taxpayer Clinics. The clinics are at the Downtown Law Library on the last Wednesday of each month from 2 pm to 4 pm. The next clinic is Wednesday, June 27.
The clinic helps with IRS wage garnishments, bank levies, audits, EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit) denials, negotiated settlements, and other problems. In addition, they can assist you if you’ve claimed a refund, but have not received it yet. People will be seen on a first come – first served basis.
The clinic does not assist in the preparation of federal or state income tax returns. You can receive help preparing your taxes through two programs. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance can help if you meet one of several qualifications. Additionally, if you are over 60 years old, then you can take advantage of the Tax Counseling for the Elderly program.
