That right! Our friends at Legal Aid Society’s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic are hosting a VIRTUAL, WALK-IN, federal tax clinic! The clinic will take place using MS Teams, so all you have to do is click on this link on Wednesday, Oct. 27th, between 12:30 and 3:00 pm and you will be put in touch with a tax advocate! This clinic assists low-income taxpayers with IRS wage garnishments, bank levies, audits, EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit) denials, negotiated settlements, and other tax issues.

This clinic does not assist in the preparation of federal or state income tax returns. But, you CAN receive assistance with your federal and state income taxes through two programs by the IRS. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program can help qualified applicants. Additionally, if you are over the age of 60, then you can tax advantage of the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) Program. You can find a tax assistance provider near you on this IRS website.
