We’re proud to have University of San Diego Law Professor Lisa Ramsey as our moderator for the tenth anniversary Lindley Lecture on Law & Comics. Professor Ramsey is a founding member of the Center for Intellectual Property Law and Markets and teaches trademark and intellectual property law classes. Her scholarship focuses on the potential conflict between trademark laws and free speech rights.
Professor Ramsey has given presentations throughout the United States and around the world and recently participated on a panel at the International Trademark Association annual meeting that discussed consumer and brand owner reactions to fan works.
Before joining the University of San Diego law faculty, Professor Ramsey was an intellectual property litigator for several years at Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich. She also served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Rebecca Beach Smith in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
