All Law Library locations will be closed Monday, February 19, 2018, in observance of Presidents’ Day. All locations will be open regular hours the following Tuesday.

Presidents’ Day has an interesting history. Originally, George Washington’s birthday, February 22, was a federal holiday no matter when it fell during the week. In 1971, as part of the Uniform Holiday Act, it became Presidents’ Day and would be celebrated on the 3rd Monday of February. However, the federal government still refers to the holiday as Washington’s Birthday.

Patrons can access a variety of online resources while the Library is closed. You can start with our Self-Help Center or the research and motion guides on our website. They cover dozens of legal topics. Also, you can read self-help legal books from Nolo any time by clicking on the Nolo Press link from the electronic resources page.
