Martin Luther King Jr Monument in Atlanta taken on his day 2005

We will be closed on Monday, January 17 in observance of  Martin Luther King Jr Day.  The holiday honors Dr. King’s life and work as a civil rights leader and Nobel Peace Prize recipient. Signed into law by President Ronald Regan on November 2, 1983, the holiday was first observed in 1986. The holiday has been observed in all 50 States since 2000.

The law library will reopen Tuesday, January 18, by appointment only for in-person Reference/ Reading Room and Computer Use appointments, email and phone reference services.

While the law library is closed, we will not be providing reference services, but there are still many resources available on our website to assist you with your legal research needs. Start with our Self-Help Center or the Research and Motion Guides on our website. If you have a COVID-19 related legal issue, take a look at our COVID-19 Legal Issues Pages. They cover dozens of legal topics. Also, you can read self-help legal books any time by clicking on the Nolo Legal Information Reference Center link from the Legal Databases page.
