The Law Library will be hosting a variety of events during Law Week, April 29 to May 5. Law Week is our week-long celebration of Law Day. Law Day is a national day to celebrate the rule of law and its contributions to the freedoms Americans enjoy. This year, Law Day is focused on the importance of the 14th Amendment. Our events include legal clinics, MCLE classes, and legal information fairs. We are still finalizing our full list of events, but we can announce that we will once again be one of the participants in City Heights Law Day.

City Heights Law Day is Saturday, April 29th, at the City Heights Weingart Library. This is a free event and is sponsored by Friends of the City Heights Library, San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association, San Diego Legal Aid Society, San Diego Law Library, and other local organizations.

Attorneys will be available for free legal consultations on a variety of topics. There will be presentations on various legal topics including immigration law, workers’ rights, family law, and probate. Additionally, the Weingart Library is hosting essay and media arts contests highlighting the 14th Amendment. The contests are open to different age groups.
