Law Week 2016 a Success
Law Week 2016 was a success! We celebrated Law Week 2016 by hosting Free Legal Clinics at our partner library in the East County, El Cajon Branch Library and our Vista location in North County. Many thanks to all the volunteer attorneys who gave their time consulting with attendees and the volunteers who helped keep the clinics running smoothly. Special thanks to the North County Bar Association and the Foothills Bar Association for recruiting members from their organizations to volunteer their services for the Law Day Free Legal Clinics. The volunteer attorneys helped over 70 attendees with legal issues in the areas of Criminal, Employment, Family, and Landlord -Tenant Law.
We would also like to thank the agencies that provided materials for our Legal Resource Information tables. Information from various agencies providing legal services was available at our Downtown and Vista locations, and our partner libraries, Chula Vista Public Library and El Cajon Branch Library. We also provided Legal Resource Information at the City Heights Library’s Law Day Celebration Contributing agencies included the San Diego ACLU, San Diego District Attorneys Office, Elder Law and Advocacy, SDVLP, Family Law Facilitators Office, NC Lifeline and YWCA of San Diego.
During Law Week, our Downtown location hosted poster contest entries from the San Diego County Bar Association‘s Law Week poster contest. The posters were submitted by area school students in grades K-12.
