We are celebrating Law Day with a week-long exploration of the 2017 Theme, “The 14th Amendment: Transforming American Democracy.” The 14th Amendment reshaped American law and society by advancing the rights of all Americans through its clauses on Citizenship, Due Process and Equal Protection.
Tuesday, May 2: The North County Bar Association will hold a Free Legal Clinic at the Vista Branch of the San Diego County Library from 12 pm to 7 pm. Walk-ins are welcome and attendees will be seen on a first come, first served basis. Legal areas include bankruptcy, criminal, immigration, and more.

Thursday, May 4: The Center for Solo Practitioners from Thomas Jefferson School of Law will hold a Free Legal Clinic at the Law Library’s Downtown location from 1 pm to 3pm. Walk-ins are welcome and attendees will be seen on a first come, first served basis. Legal areas include employment, consumer, family, and more.
The San Diego Public Library’s Central Library is hosting a free showing of the documentary, The Loving Story, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The documentary focuses on the 1967 Supreme Court case, Loving v. Virginia, which legalized interracial marriage. Professor Bryan H. Wildenthal will introduce the film.
