The Law Library has selected several new books for our collection to help you delve deeper into the themes of Law & Comics 2018, the Business of Comics, and learn about our special guests.

We chose the following two books as a demonstration of special guest Batton Lash’s work: Sonovawitch, and Other Tales of Supernatural Law; and The Vampire Brat, and Other Tales of Supernatural Law.

Also, we’ve selected several books that delve into different facets of the comics business. Hirohiko Araki’s Manga in Theory and Practice: The Craft of Creating Manga describes the creative process used by creator of one the longest running manga. Additionally, The Law for Comic Book Creators by Joe Sergi looks at various lawsuits about comic books in order to provide lessons and insights to readers. Lastly, you can take a fun tour through the origins of comic books with The Comic Book History of Comics: Birth of a Medium by Fred van Lente and Ryan Dunlavey. It starts with cave painting and continues up through the Underground Comix of the 1970s.

Drop by our Downtown location to see these and more graphic novels and books about the comics business.
