Today is the day!  The goal of the Secret Project Intelligence Team (S.P.I.T.) will take shape this morning.

The furniture in the library commons has been moved away…the caution tape is up….and the team is ready for action!

What can you do to support this amazing effort?  We are asking for $5, $10, heck $50 donations to go to our Book of the Year Fund.  Every year we need a bit of money to add a special book to the library’s collection.  These are special, one-of-a-kind books that represent the year that was.  It could be The Year of Living Dangerously or Magnificent Obsession or Nightmare on Elm Street!  Because our book budget is spent on legal practice materials, we need this extra bit of money to buy an awesome one-time book that captures the imagination, excitement, and significance of 2013!

Imagine what we have been through this year, as a legal community, as a law library, as residents of this great county, and of the United States. We had a federal government face-off (Bobby Orr’s new autobiography comes to mind!), a meltdown in city government (Shipwreck!).

You get the idea!  In terms of the law library, we have been busy with a Year of Assessment, a theme that carries over into 2014 as we conduct user surveys, build a strategic action plan, and set goals for new and better services.  (Assessment Made Incredibly Easy!)

Come check out what S.P.I.T. has created and see what fun we have in store for you.  If you can’t make it downtown, we will be having frequent photo and video updates on the project’s progress.
