On Monday, May 4th, at noon, we are hosting a webinar on Legal Research Using Fastcase. Fastcase is our newest legal database and we’re excited to teach you the ins and outs of using Fastcase to search for federal or states cases, codes, and regulations. During the COVID crisis, we have made Fastcase available remotely to our patrons for FREE!
Fastcase is a nationwide electronic law library that includes cases, statutes, regulations, court rules, and constitutions. You’ll learn how to conduct effective searches on Fastcase and how to use tools including Citation Analysis and Data Visualization during this live demonstration on Zoom! This class will be taught by Fastcase Reference Attorney Ken Strickland-Garcia.
NOTE: If you are an attorney wishing to receive MCLE credit please register separately for a single ticket.
Then, on Thursday, May 7, we have a Debt Relief Seminar that covers strategies you can use to take the pressure off financial woes caused by the COVID crisis. There is an emphasis on being proactive and working with your creditors. This seminar will cover the following topics: rent and mortgage, utilities, revolving debt/credit cards, and debt relief options and bankruptcy.
Friend of the library and local bankruptcy attorney Pamela Brown-McGill will co-present the webinar. She is the past President of the California Small Claims Advisors’ Association and previously worked for the San Diego Superior Court, Escondido City Attorney’s Office, and the Office of County Counsel for the County of San Diego, culminating in over 20 years of working in the legal field in various roles.
We are so happy to provide these programs from you. If you have any other questions or topic suggestions for future webinars, please contact us by email or telephone.
