FREE Remote Access to Lexis Advance Database

By Valerie on April 13, 2020//Leave a comment

We have all had to make some serious adjustments in our work life over the past few weeks. (Understatement of the year, we know.) One of the things that we have been struggling with is accessing the information we need while working from home. We have worked with LexisNexis to allow our patrons remote access to their legal database in order to help you work from home.

We are excited to announce that LexisNexis has agreed to provide a free Lexis Advance subscriptions that will last either 30-days or until May 31, 2020, whichever comes first. This free subscription allows access to the Lexis National Primary Enhanced Library, which includes all state and federal cases, codes, and regulations, and law reviews. Subscribers will also receive access to the Company and Financial Information and the Briefs, Pleadings, and Motions libraries, as well as the Shepard’s Citation Service.

Due to our licensing, this subscription DOES NOT include treatises or practice guides but, subscribers will be able to access the tables of contents for those sources.  This way, subscribers can make accurate document delivery requests to the San Diego Law Library via email, telephone, or statewide online chat.

This Lexis Advance subscription comes in addition to the other legal databases that are available remotely through our Legal Databases webpage.  For more information about how to access all of these resources and more, follow the directions on our Legal Databases page.

There are some instances when comments will be edited or deleted. See our blog comment policy for more information.

Hi Jack, Lexis access requires that you register first. You can find a link to register on the Legal Databases page of the website. If you aren’t having any luck please email us at refdesk@sdlawlibrary.org or call at (619) 531-3900 and we should be able to assist you.
