MCLE: 1 Hour of General Participatory MCLE Credit
Many of us are caring for an adult. Whether it is a parent, adult child, of friend that needs help, there may come a time when legal decisions about health care, food, and shelter will need to be made, and this is where a conservatorship of the person can help.
About this Event
This training is geared towards attorneys with little or no Conservatorship Law experience. We will cover mental capacity and the types of conservatorship (LPS vs. Probate, Person vs. Estate, Limited vs. General). The program will primarily focus on Probate Conservatorship of the Person, both Limited and General. Attorneys will learn the basics about determining if Conservatorship is appropriate and which type(s) should be considered. There will also be an overview of the procedure and court forms. The training will include an overview of the Legal Aid Society of San Diego Conservatorship Clinic and will explain how attorneys can volunteer at the Clinic.
About the Speaker
This presentation will be given by Legal Aid Society of San Diego Staff Attorney, Barbara Treash-Osio.
