In our never-ending quest to make sure you have the resources that you need during the COVID-19 crisis, we have exciting additions to the legal resources for the residents of San Diego County.

The first exciting piece of news is that Lexis Advance has expanded the resources they are making available through their remote access accounts. Previously, when you created your temporary Lexis Advance accounts through our Legal Databases webpage, you had access to case law, statutes, regulations, and law review articles.

But, now they are including their Matthew Bender practice guides. This means you can access titles like the California Forms of Pleading & Practice and California Points & Authorities from your home computer FOR FREE!! To sign up for your free trial of Lexis Advance, follow these instructions for your 30-day Lexis Advance access. If you have already set up your account, then you should now be able to access the resources immediately.

The second set of new resources are two new additions to our COVID-19 Legal Issues webpage. The first is a new topic, “Getting Your Affairs In Order.” The page includes links to two new guides, estate planning and power of attorney. The estate planning guide has information and links about wills, transfer on death deeds, and designated beneficiaries. The power of attorney guide includes Advance Health Care Directives. There are links to forms, legal resources, and California statutes to help you get your affairs in order.

The second new resource is a compilation of Spanish versions of our COVID resources in our COVID-19 Recursos en Español webpage. On this page, you’ll find information about legal resources, healthcare, the CARES Act, employment, housing and more, all in Spanish.

And, as always, if you have any questions or need assistance, please contact us email or telephone so we can help you with your legal research needs!
