We have two exciting events on deck today!

First up, we have the final class in our fall Know the Law! series at the Vista Branch of the San Diego County Public Library at 10:30 AM. Attendees will get a basic overview of the policies and procedures of San Diego’s Small Claims Court. The hour long presentation will be conducted by an attorney knowledgeable in Small Claims policies and procedures. There will have a Q&A session following the presentation.

We are proud to be partnering with the San Diego County Library’s Vista branch and the North County Bar Association to provide the Know the Law series of public lectures. This is the last session in the fall Know the Law! series, but keep an eye out for next season’s series! And, if you would like more information or need assistance regarding Small Claims Court, check out the TJSL Small Claims Clinic and our Small Claims Guide in the Law Library’s Self-Help Center!

The second event is our Civil Appellate Self-Help Workshop that starts at 4:00 pm at our Downtown Location. This workshop will help guide attendees through the appeal process. It will describe the steps in an appeal, court rules and procedures, and other useful sources of information. The workshop does require registration, so if you would like to attend, call the Legal Aid Society of San Diego at 619-471-2781 to register (leave a message).

The Civil Appellate Self-Help Workshop is a joint project of the California Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District, Division One; Legal Aid Society of San Diego; the San Diego County Bar Association’s Appellate Court Committee; and the Law Library. It is held on the third Thursday of the month and next workshop will be on December 19th. Want to get started right away? Take a look at our Civil Appeals research guide.
