The San Diego Law Library and the Lawyers Club of San Diego invite you to an evening honoring the life and legacy of the first female Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of California, Rose Elizabeth Bird.

The Case of Rose Bird: Gender, Politics, and the California Courts, will take place in the California Reading Room at the San Diego Law Library’s Downtown location on Thursday, November 1st. The program runs from 6:00pm to 7:30pm and is followed by a reception from 7:30 to 8:00pm with desserts from Extraordinary Desserts provided by the Lawyers Club of San Diego and beer and wine provided by Kramm Court Reporting.

Guest speakers include the Honorable Yvonne Esperanza Campos and Kathleen Cairns. Judge Campos is a judge in the Criminal Division of the San Diego Superior Court. Dr. Kathleen Cairns is a Professor of History at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and author of the book The Case of Rose Bird: Gender Politics, and the California Courts. San Diego City Attorney Mara Elliott will moderate the event.  Tickets for this event are $15.
