Election 2020: Primary Election is March 3

The California Primary Election is Tuesday, March 3. Here are some important deadlines about registering to vote, voting by mail, and early voting.


The last date to register to vote in the March 3 Primary Election is Tuesday, February 18.  You can register to vote online or by visiting the office of the San Diego Registrar of  Voters .  Have you recently moved or not sure of your voter status? Click here to check your voter information.


The last day to apply for  mail ballot is Tuesday, February 25.  You can also request a mail ballot by phone at (858) 565-5800. The request applies only to the March 3 election and you must personally make the call.


Early voting has begun at the County Registrar of Voters office located at 5600 Overland Ave on the County Operations Center campus in Kearny Mesa. Early voting  will continue from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and until the polls close on Election Day. The office will also be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29 and Sunday, March 1 for weekend voting.
