Election 2016: Primary Election is June 7

The Presidential Primary is not the only election in June. Tuesday, June 7, 2016, is also Primary Election Day for several State and local government offices. The last day to register to vote is Monday, May 23. You can pick up Voter Registration form at our downtown San Diego or Vista locations, or register online at the Registrar of Voters. The last day to apply for a mail ballot is May 31.

 

Elections for other Federal offices include U.S. Senator and Representatives in Congress.

 

Elections for State seats include:

State Senate 39th District

State Assembly

County Central Committee/County Council Members

*County Board of Supervisors (Districts 1,2, & 3)

*Superior Court Judges

 

The Cities of Chula Vista (Council Districts 3 & 4) and *San Diego (Mayor, City Attorney, and Council Districts 1,3,5,9 & 9) also have races.

 

In addition to Federal, State and County offices, the *County Board of Education (Districts 1,2 &4), *Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College (Areas 3 & 4), San Diego Community College (Districts B & B) and San Diego Unified School (Districts A, D & E) will have elections for offices as well.

 

*Some races may not require a run-off election.  In these races, if one candidate receives over 50% of the votes cast, the winner is decided in the Primary election.
