If you have filed an appeal, or are considering appealing your civil case, then the Civil Appellate Self-Help Workshop can help guide you through the appeal process. It will describe the steps in an appeal, court rules and procedures, and other useful sources of information.
The Workshop runs from 4pm to 6pm Tuesday, September 17th, at the Law Library’s Downtown location. It is held on the third Tuesday of each month, so the next session will not be until Tuesday, October 15th. Registration for this program is required, so please call the Legal Aid Society of San Diego at 619-471-2781 to register (leave a message). For more information, check out this flyer.
And, if you qualify for a fee waiver and have already filed a notice of appeal for your civil case in the California Court of Appeal, 4th District, Division One, you can apply to the Access to Appellate Justice Program to see if you can be paired with a pro bono appellate attorney. Please come 15 minutes early if you would like to complete the paperwork for the Access to Appellate Justice Program.
And, if you can’t wait to learn about the civil appellate process, take a look at our Civil Appeals research guide.
