CASHW Virtual Workshop Can Help with Civil Appeals
Are you interested in appealing your civil court judgment but are unsure what you need to do to start the process? Have you begun your appeal, but feel overwhelmed and could use guidance from an experienced professional?
Well, Tuesday, September 15th at 4:00 pm, the San Diego Law Library, the Legal Aid Society of San Diego, and the San Diego County Bar Association’s Appellate Practice Section are hosting our monthly Civil Appellate Self-Help Workshop online.
This workshop is designed for individuals with civil cases they want to appeal or have appealed to the 4th District Court of Appeal and who are not represented by an attorney. The workshop will explain the appellate process and identify resources that can help you handle an appeal. Attendees could even get one-on-one guidance about the appellate process.
Attendees MUST register in advance by contacting the Legal Aid Society of San Diego at (619) 471-2781 or by registering online. If registering by telephone, potential registrants will then be called for screening and receive a Zoom link to the virtual workshop. And, if you miss this month’s workshop, there is one held the 3rd Tuesday of each month!
The Civil Appellate Self-Help Workshop is also an opportunity to learn more about the Access to Appellate Justice Pro Bono Program, a program that pairs self-represented appellants with pro bono attorneys.
If you want to get a head start on your legal research, check out our online Self-Help Center. There is a section on Appeals that can help! If you have any questions, you can always contact us via email or telephone.
