By Kelly on January 29, 2016//Leave a comment

We have received some paper tax forms from the California Franchise Tax Board. Please call our branches before you come in to ensure we have the specific form you are looking for. The FTB are encouraging the public to get their forms online:  California tax forms

A tax specialist from the Legal Aid Society is available on the last Wednesday of the month for legal assistance with your federal tax questions (but not to prepare your taxes). Call (877) 534-2524 ext 2602, or stop by between 2-4 pm on February 24 and March 30.

For free tax return preparation check out:

AARP Tax Aides – free, individualized tax preparation for low-to moderate-income taxpayers – especially (but not limited to) those 60 and older

VITA (IRS Volunteer Tax Assistance) and TCE (Tax Counseling for the Elderly) – search for the addresses of sites where IRS and FTB trained volunteers prepare basic personal income tax returns for low to moderate income taxpayers free of charge.

Where and when can I get physical booklets and forms for 2016 tax return?

      Hi,
The 2017 tax forms (for income in 2016) are normally available in February. They’ll be available first on http://www.irs.gov, then libraries will get physical copies soon after.
      Best,
