On Tap! The Power of YES in a library context (part 367)

What peeves me about libraries is all the rules that reduce people to five-year-old kid status — who wants to be treated like that? A world of shaming and blaming and tisking and tasking.  “I see that giant 2 liter bottle of Coke that you are hiding under your coat — now hand it over!”

DONT  eat, sweat, stink, drink, run, fart, phone, whistle, bristle, or otherwise find yourself a comfy place to read up on the law and take a nap.

Geez, it is so easy to say YES.  Why don’t we do that more often?

At the new Law Library  we just decided to allow food and drink and have  a few simple rules:  nothing smelly, noisy, or messy.  The Rules seem to be working.

But violators beware:  if any food does not conform, then I get to eat it!   😉
