The San Diego Law Library is the proud recipient of a donation of important International Law materials from Professor Emeritus, William Slomanson, of Thomas Jefferson School of Law. These books have been cataloged and are ready for use by library users and members. They are in the first aisle (nearest the elevator) of the fourth floor at the Law Library’s Downtown location.
You can search for these materials in the Library’s catalog as the Slomanson International Law Collection. After you’ve reached the catalog, click on the “advanced search” link near the top left of the screen, then click on the “collection” link on the next screen. The Slomanson Collection is an option in this area.
Professor Slomanson developed this collection of over 1300 items to support his teaching and writing on international law. He is the author of the textbook Fundamental Perspectives on International Law (6th edition), has lectured/taught international law courses in 20 countries, and has written extensively on a variety of international law topics.
Professor Slomanson was a Visiting Professor at Pristina University in Kosovo for many years. Many of the unique items in the collection come from his work and experiences in Kosovo and from his tenure teaching international law to the United Nations Sixth Committee (Legal) at the United Nations in New York. He traveled the world gathering these unique materials. The Law Library is very fortunate to have received works that will benefit researchers for many years to come.
