Giving Tuesday and the Law Library

Tuesday, November 27 is #Giving Tuesday, an annual International day of giving event. Held the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Giving Tuesday started in 2012 as a way to help non-profits with fundraising efforts. Donations to the Law Library Justice Foundation help us fulfill our mission of Law Made Public.

The Law Library Justice Foundation is organized as a charitable trust affiliated with the San Diego Law Library. The sole mission of the Foundation is to aid us in our efforts to provide access to justice through our many resources and programs. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization established for scientific and educational purposes by the IRS.

Why support the San Diego Law Library? The San Diego Law Library is the only community resource dedicated to helping people learn about and use the law to solve problems, access justice and take advantage of opportunities. Through our resources, both print and electronic, and professional staff, we support the legal community, local businesses and the general public. Last year we answered 8,211 Legal Reference Questions and had 48, 633 in person visits. We offered 2,480 15 specialized legal databases for public use. We offered 393 community events and classes and 279 free legal clinics with community partners.

Donations can be made to the Law Library Justice Foundation online, by mail or by phone. Another way to support the Law Library is by shopping with AmazonSmile. AmazonSmile works like shopping with AmazonPrime with a small percentage of the sale going to the charity of your choice. Click here for more information about shopping with AmazonSmile.
